PP Blames Mayor for more delays to Works on Parking in Velilla and San Cristobal A number of shops and businesses in Velilla will have to close for another month while works are completed on the underground parking. The Partido Popular (PP) party puts the responsibility for these further delays, both at Velilla and at San Cristobal, firmly at the door of the Mayor’s office, blaming lack of organisation. The PP complained that, after two years of delays, they were told verbally on Friday that there would be another month’s hold-up. According to the PP, “this shows that Benavides has completely lost control over the management of the project, and shows no sensitivity towards the plight of the businesses and shops that have suffered for two years due to works that should have been completed in nine months”. The PP put forward a variety of proposals and demands, including a request for compensation for the heavy losses incurred by the local shops and businesses.By Tressa Davey May 27, 2010
